What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boat Lake Tester position at Aviara Boats?

General Description of Position:

Responsible for lake testing all products, investigating critical failures found at lake test.

Lake Test Duties:

  • Perform a functional test on all components on the boat (ballast, heater, cruise, wake shaping devices, etc.); do an electrical check; check for water, fuel and oil leaks; check for handling and drivability
  • Investigate critical defects including electrical, engine, ballast, surf, and audio system
  • Maintain Lake Test check sheets and CTQ checks, and update as necessary
  • Make any small repairs necessary
  • Complete Lake Test AIMS CTQ checks
  • Winterize all boats.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Education & Work Experience

Must have working knowledge of all stations in Rigging and Final Assembly. Must have an accredited boat driver certification and be able to drive a tractor. Must have basic computer skills. Must have knowledge of power and hand tools. Must have knowledge of all MasterCraft models. Must be able to write down and communicate any problems that need repair. Must be able to read and understand production build sheets. Electrical troubleshooting experience is preferred.

Environmental and Working Conditions:

Work is in production environment, as well as outside in all types of weather conditions. Normal duties require standing, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs.), with or without accommodation. Talking, hearing and normal vision is required.

Skills & Aptitudes:

Language skills - Able to understand spoken instructions regarding job training and safety concerns and the ability to speak conversational English.

Reasoning skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products. Ability to deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity.

Travel: Some travel may be required in this position.
