POSITION PURPOSE
- This position is responsible for processing of financial aid documentation for students.
JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing documentation to ensure that each student has funds to pay for tuition, including VA Education Benefits, Military Tuition Assistance (TA), scholarships, etc.
- Monitors submission of FAFSA’s and receipt of ISIRs
- Completes verification in a timely manner for all files selected for verification
- Monitors submission of student MPNs via COD
- Performs group or individual entrance and exit loan counseling
- Maintains and is familiar with current FA regulations to include current Federal Student Aid Handbook
- Regularly reviews incomplete files; ensures that funds are only disbursed when student is eligible
- Monitors student accounts to ensure full packaging
- Monitors expected and past due cash flow to ensure that funding is disbursed as appropriate and in a timely manner
- Meets with all incoming students to start aid process, explains types of aid, gives out and explains necessary forms and documentation
- Is available to all students for questions, problems, and follow-up on processing, and to refer students to the appropriate staff member for assistance with academic advising
- Any additional task or project assigned by the Campus Director of Compliance & Administration/Campus Assistant Director and/or Campus Executive Director.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, or equitable on-the-job experience
- College level coursework in accounting, finance, or related field required
Experience/Skills
- Proprietary school financial aid experience highly desirable
- Must have excellent computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are required
- Must have an outgoing personality with excellent people skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with a college student population
- Cannot be in default on Federal Student loans
*This is not a remote position, will be required to be able to work on campus.
