Full Job Description
We are looking for a friendly and competent dental assistant who wants to and enjoys caring for children, teens and special needs patients. Dental assistants applying should be supportive, well-organized and responsible. Because you are a key part of helping our patients look forward to their visit, we would like for you to be skilled in maintainging a safe and clean work space, providing a calm and welcoming environment and in complaince with procedures and regulations. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.
Qualifications
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Graduated from a dental assisting program: RDA
Dental assisting experience (Preferred)
X-Ray Certification
Coronal Polishing and Nitrous Certifications
Sealant Certification (Preferred)
Responsibilities
Welcome patients in the dental office
Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed
Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
Provide exceptional dental care within your scope
Keep rooms clean and well-stocked
Provide oral hygiene and pre and post-operative care instructions
Sterilize instruments properly according to regulations
Perform lab tasks as instructed
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures if needed
Schedule appointments
Maintain an environment that will build long-lasting, trusting relationships with the pediatric patients
Help patients look forward to the dentist and dental visit
Work with the team to help the entire office meet its goals
Skills
Graduated from dental assistant school
Qualified experience as dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Great computer skills/dental software
Excellent communication and strong people skills
Well-organized and reliable
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
