Position Summary: Team Lead duties encompass general aspects of onsite operations, and presumes an overseeing role at all times, with support available as needed. Team Lead is responsible for general daily oversight of the cafe and for executing efficient operations based on company wide systems, policy and procedures. Team Lead must lead by example and maintain a highly functional, happy team.
Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact for staff and customer issues
- Act as liaison between cafe team and company leadership
- Ensure that all staff receive breaks in accordance with CA laws
- Maintain cafe inventory and storage systems
- Maintain effective relationship with vendors and place orders on time
- Ensure cleanliness of cafe and retail displays
- Ensure excellence of all food and beverages
- Maintain responsibility for an accurate cash box
- Draft weekly schedules for cafe employees
- Attend weekly leadership meetings, provide and receive feedback
- Conduct employee check-ins and reviews
- Troubleshoot challenges with POS, printers, speakers, etc. Contact repair services where needed.
- Ensure proper protocol on food handling practices and policies, including proper rotations and date checking
- Lead by example. Display a high level of excellence and autonomy.
Skills
- Previous work experience in service/hospitality
- Previous experience creating schedules
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations in food/beverage industry
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends
- Professional and diplomatic approach to difficult situations with customers, employees or vendors
- Excellent communication skills
- Eye for detail and ability to identify and address issues
Physical Demands
- Must be able to comfortably lift 25 pounds from the ground up to waist or shoulder height
- Must be able to stand for up to 4 consecutive hours, or 8 total hours in a day
