The Enterprise Security Analyst plays an essential role in protecting Avient's global information assets and business operations. This position participates in the planning, design, implementation and audit of various components of the information security program such as vulnerability management, incident response, asset classification, policy and procedure development, and others.
Essential Functions
- Participates in the planning, design, implementation and audit of various components of the information security program, including security metrics reporting, and information security improvement.
- Recognizes and identifies areas where existing security policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, and follows up to ensure appropriate action has been taken.
- Stays abreast of regulatory changes that can affect information security policy, standards, and procedures, recommends appropriate security program changes, and follows up to ensure completion. Gains knowledge of changing technologies, and provides recommendations for adaptation of new technologies or policies.
- Participates in risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect customer, or corporate security objectives.
- Collaborates with functional IT teams in the evaluation and recommendation of security products, services and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Participates in security incident response and follow up on IT related security issues, and participates in investigations of suspected information security misuse or compliance, and recommends appropriate corrective actions for information security incident response.
- Provides support to IT and other business units as appropriate in responding to audits and other information requests, and assists and coordinates the development and oversight of functional area self assessments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- A Computer Science or Information Technology degree program is preferred
- 5 years related experience in problem solving, knowledge sharing, system configuration, programming, implementation, and technical support
