A leading medical institution is seeking a Simulation Technician. The successful candidate will apply acquired skills, processes, and policy knowledge to support professional health education program, learners. The ideal candidate has knowledge of educational technology and systems and the ability to troubleshoot and triage related technology issues.
Simulation Technician Pay and Benefits:
- Hourly pay: $55/hr
- Worksite: Leading medical institution (San Francisco, CA 94143)
- W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, PSL
- 40 hours/week, 1 Month Assignment
Simulation Technician Responsibilities:
- Coordinates implementation of professional health educational activities, which may include program competencies, curriculum, and exams.
- Oversee in-house activities, training sessions, routine maintenance/scenario programming time, and tours.
- Support and provide the simulation components to support faculty with their research that is conducted in the center.
- Compile education materials and supportive documents and props to enhance teaching sessions.
- Monitor and oversee daily class sessions and assist with other special projects or initiatives.
- Participate on SLC-related committees.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of continuous quality improvement of policies, procedures, and practices for the LSC.
- Maintain data confidentiality and security.
- Develop professional working relationships with administrators and healthcare professionals
- Ensure all work assignments meet deadlines and standards of quality.
- Assist with logistics and coordination for program social events and/or educational activities, which may include recruitment; orientation; graduation; conferences; and simulation and/or other assessment activities.
- Oversee learner and faculty evaluations for simulation activities programmed and disseminated by Qualtrics and, or B-Line Medical software.
- Assist in projecting costs, monitoring budgets, and financial tracking for health professions education programs and related activities.
- May process and track learner reimbursements.
- Assist program management with financial tasks related to the program.
- Maintain program communication resources, which may include maintaining the program website to ensure updated information and program requirements.
- Respond to inquiries from learners and faculty regarding educational technology and systems.
- Troubleshoot and triage issues.
- Assist in monitoring and reviewing the user experience.
- Assist with a variety of projects to provide solutions to improve educational or administrative operations.
- May work with others to achieve project objectives.
Simulation Technician Qualifications:
- Experience working in medical simulation education is preferred.
- Experience in BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses is preferred.
- Experience in human anatomy, physiology, medicine, and healthcare setting or related experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Ability to obtain BLS instructor certification within 3 months of hire date.
- Ability to obtain Laerdal Service Technician certification required within 12 months of hire date.
- ACLS certification is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the health professions education industry is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research.
- Background in any medical field, IT work, or both.
- Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications of a program is preferred.
- Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills are preferred.
- Communication skills; includes verbal, written, and active listening. Service-oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within the department and with learners.
- Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars/schedules requires extremely well-organized and detail-oriented precision.
- Knowledge of educational technology and systems and the ability to troubleshoot and triage related technology issues.
- Ability to generate computer reports, check for errors, and correct and submit accurate reports is preferred.
- Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of B-line Medical evaluation AVcapture and Laerdal Sun software and platforms is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance the user experience within 6 months of hire date is preferred.
- Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems.
Shift:
- Monday-Friday: 8 am-5 pm, with some flexibility on days without simulation sessions.
