We're currently looking for an Operational Senior Claims Leader to head up a unit consisting of technical large loss.

What you'll do :
Accountable for the leadership of a team of people and the improvement in their performance for the delivery of the business unit outcomes, strategy, and goals.

Create, re-engineer, optimize, and monitor current and proposed claims standards and best practices, risk and compliance standards, functional training curriculum content and functional IT claims project management
Key Accountabilities :
Oversee quantification team which includes large loss appraisers, review desk evaluators, vendor managers, pricing, and a technical restoration specialist.
This is a leader of leaders role within the Property Claims Department.
Create strategy for increasing technical capability on the team, implement and measure results
Ensure appropriate governance and controls on pricing
Create, engineer, optimize, monitor workflows and risk controls to ensure quantification methods are reaching appropriate financial outcomes
Understanding compliance with standards and best practices, identify where opportunities exist, bring forward suggested solutions, implement and monitor the results
Support and create alignment between the quantification team, other business units and the broader Property & Specialty Department
Create an environment where people can do their best work
Grow and develop a culture of coaching to increase capability across the team
Have an expert understanding of the end-to-end claims experience and use that knowledge to manage vendor performance, oversee the quantification for the attritional and large loss property claims and help your team to troubleshoot issues and act as an escalation point.
Develop and recommend the strategic direction for your department.
Represent your team in senior management discussions, internally and externally.
Have a clear understanding of financial elements of our claims function to ensure we remain financially strong year over year.
Think creatively to develop solutions or identify problems.
Participate as a technical expert in key strategy projects.
What you'll bring :
You have strong technical construction and estimating experience in large loss quantification
You have a post-secondary education and a CIP / FCIP designation.
You have previous leadership experience in the insurance industry.
You have played a key role in the performance management and career development of others.
You have continuous improvement experience or have studied it.
You have excellent communication skills and can engage, advocate and influence others at all levels of the organization.
You are able to manage various projects at the same time.
You are an analytical thinker and can use that ability to gain insight from data to improve the performance of your people You are curious and creative
