Avon Protection Ceradyne, a subsidiary of Avon Protection, is looking for a Manufacturing Controls Engineer. This position will be responsible for manipulating data from our manufacturing processes for analysis by the Operations & Quality teams by using ‘off-the-shelf’ tools (MES, SQL, Power BI) for development of data storage and visualization. The position will take the concept of quality driven data analysis to a deployable state for use in all Helmet manufacturing sites. Candidate will collaborate with the Prototyping, Production, and Program Management teams to deliver world class solutions.
Essential duties and/ or functions:
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Interface with teams to scope data needs and report requirements
• Based on scope, create/optimize Industry 4.0 systems to allow the following:
o User friendly MES Data Review for key production programs.
o Recipe Management App for Process Equipment
o Daily Process Data Dashboards
• Exhibit a positive and proactive attitude.
• Work within the company's New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
• Frequent physical demands, including:
o Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs
o Lifting up to 30 lbs.
o Frequent standing/sitting/squatting
o Operating around moving equipment
Required Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems or a related field
• Minimum two (2) years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment directly working on understanding and integrating industrial sensors, motors, PLC programming (Unitronics and Allen Bradley) and network protocols into working control systems.
• 2-3 working years of knowledge with SQL and Microsoft Data Tools – Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate, Azure Data Universe
• Familiar with Programming languages – examples: C#, Python, Ruby, Java, PHP, Other Object-oriented programming
• Experience with User Interface Design
• Strong communication, documentation and teamwork skills
• Excellent math, creativity, and problem-solving skills
• Fluently read, write legibly, understand and communicate effectively in English
• Good organizational, work planning and documentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to work on a fast-paced, deadline driven team
Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences:
• Experience with MES development/deployment
• Experience with Low code/No code solutions for applications & reporting.
• Experience in an Industrial Manufacturing setting.
• Exposure or familiar with Mfg control sytems such as PLCs, SCADA and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)
• Familiar with Export & ITAR controlled Data.
• Solid electrical controls design knowledge including safety circuit design
• Working knowledge of Risk Assessment methods for implementation of safety systems
• Working knowledge of industrial standards including but not limited to NEC, NFPA 79, UL 508/UL60947-4-1
• NFPA 70e Arc Flash Training

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Salem, NH is $85,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
