Great Road Veterinary Hospital is actively looking for an experienced surgical veterinary technician who is looking to advance their skills and take their knowledge to the next level. The ideal candidate knows how to and is willing to be a positive and supportive team player. They will be confident in their veterinary technician skills and have confidence in assisting in surgery, be able to help monitor surgery patients, help with surgical recovery, assist with prepping patients and anything else needed to assist the veterinarian during surgical procedures.
They will also know how to load rooms, take history, place IV catheters, draw blood and run bloodwork, use in-clinic laboratory equipment, have knowledge of x-ray and positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, able to dispense and administer medication prescribed by the veterinarian. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and Great Road encourages and supports is staff to do the same. This surgery technician will want to teach and mentor our staff and encourage them to succeed and expand their technician skills. Requirements
- 2 years of prior veterinary technician experience and surgical experience
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to multi-task efficiently
- Understand the importance of client education
- Is a motivating and supportive team player
- Strives to continue to increase their knowledge in the vet industry
