What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Operator position at Award Staffing?
Manufacturing Operator’s in Maple Plain, MN | $20.00/Hour
Our Manufacturing Operator’s workweek is 1st Shift, M-F, Somewhat flexible between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM but would prefer 8:30-5:00.. This job is a Production type position that that pays $20.00/Hour and is a Temp-to-hire opportunity.
Manufacturing Operator Duties and Responsibilities –
-Following written procedures, weigh out quantities of powdered or liquid chemicals into the proper mixing container or tank; blend, sample, pump and package finished product for warehousing.
-Pull required raw materials from warehouse as detailed in batch sheets, using proper moving equipment.
-Inventory materials as directed by physical count. Maintain inventory count through proper documentation of raw materials used.
-Add raw materials to mixing vessel using the correct pump or specified equipment, to the weight or level specified in the batch sheet. Properly clean and stow all pumps and equipment after each use.
-Mix product following written direction for time and/or heat requirements.
-Provide samples to quality control. Pump, package and label finished product to appropriate container when directed.
-Operate all mechanical devices used in the production area including water system and waste treatment system, pumps, mixers and ventilation system.
-Properly label all containers.
-Warehouse finished goods in appropriate designated area using forklift or reach truck as required. Insure that proper Personal Protective Equipment is used and maintained at all times.
-Assist in shipping/receiving when required and directed.
-Perform tasks according to the safe operating procedures established.
-Use and be responsible for all personal protective equipment provided or issued. Will be responsible for inspecting the equipment prior to use, and cleaning after use.
Manufacturing Operator Requirements and Qualifications –
-One to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
-Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but un-involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
