What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Coordinator position at Away?

Want to help us transform the travel experience? The ideal candidate will have had experience in facilities or workplace management with a focus on hard services. You will report to the Senior Workplace & Facilities Ops manager based in our New York City office.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide reception coverage during work hours and ensure that our workplace is welcoming to all employees and visitors
  • Lead the coordination of administrative tasks such as invoice coding, COI management and vendor paperwork for the Workplace Operations department 
  • Performs routine workplace inspections and keep repair/maintenance task lists up to date.
  • Assist with regular maintenance and general upkeep throughout our office to ensure a clean, safe and productive working environment
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and building management; maintain best in class service whether issues are resolved in-house or by one of our partners.
  • Act as the first line contact for the Workplace Operations department for all internal and external customers/contractors.
  • Follow-up to ensure workplace services issues are identified and repaired quickly, or escalated if needed.
  • Update and maintain accurate records and official documentation for the site including, but not limited to: moves/reconfigurations, events, reception, and building operations.

Who you are:

  • Minimum 2 years experience 
  • Analytical and process driven in approach to workplace/facility management
  • Proficiency in Slack, G-Suite, Excel and facility management software
  • IFMA, LEED or facility management certification 
  • Team player with a "no task is too small" attitude
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Passionate about transforming travel (but that’s a given!)
  • You can show proof of COVID-19 vaccination & adherence to HQ COVID office policies using Bindle, a secure platform that verifies vaccination status without sharing private health information, within 30 days of hire
