What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Center Specialist position at AWC?
As a Distribution Center Specialist you will be responsible for the overall organization of the warehouse facility in terms of pick, pack, shipping/receiving, freight, slotting, cycle count, accuracy, and handling of warehouse inventory. You will be an essential part to the success of AWC, completing each function properly and exceeding our customer's expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle unloading and loading of all motor freight, UPS, and other incoming shipments
- Calculate UPS Inbound Red / Blue and motor freight charges
- Freight rate quotes
- Compare information on the packing list to shipments received to verify the accuracy of the order
- Verify Purchase Order Notes
- Print Delivery Tickets / Verify Sales Order Notes
- Pull, pack, weigh and process UPS shipments
- Band and wrap motor freight shipments
- Create Bill of Ladings For Motor Freight Shipments
- Arrange for pick-up of motor freight shipments
- Responsible to monitor daily shipments and protect on-time delivery to end customers
- Handle all aspects of stock put-ups and slotting locations.
- Coordinate and document “Will Calls” with customers.
- General Housekeeping
- Order warehouse supplies
- Mandatory Daily Cycle Counts
- Mandatory Quarterly Inventory
- Assist with valve assembles as time permits
Required Qualifications:
- Reliable, organized, detailed and focused
- Shipping/Receiving & UPS World Ship Experience
- Positive attitude, team player
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
- Ability to utilize root cause analysis tools
- Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook and Office Word skills required
- Ability to move up to 100 lb. and lift up to 60 lb.
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Be able to pass a back ground check and drug screening
- Ability to operate a forklift & pallet jack
- Some technical/mechanical skills or ability to learn
- Ability to work overtime and weekends
