Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work with Division and Corporate to Develop and achieve budgeted expectations for department sales, gross margins, gains, promotional spends, and expense control in Grocery, Frozen & Dairy (GFD), AWG Brands, Member Services and Advertising departments. Ensure compliance by reporting variances to the Vice-President Merchandising.
Monitor procurement of product to assist in attaining budgeted service levels, proper turns, gains and adequate inventory levels.
Provide direction to category management on selection, purchasing and pricing of division specific Grocery, Frozen & Dairy (GFD) and AWG Brands lines.
Maintain contact with key regional suppliers to assist in driving sales in the division.
Work directly with Sales Managers and Department Specialists with new member conversions, new stores, expansions and remodels. Provide direction and assistance with the implementation of AWG merchandising and marketing programs designed to drive retail sales.
Collaborate on the activities of retail pricing at division level; working directly with retail pricing manager to maintain functional and competitive retail pricing models and programs designed to grow retail sales.
Directly responsible for planning, organizing, directing and controlling the activities involved with division food shows.
Select, train, develop and appraise departmental personnel to ensure qualified staff and provide qualified people for promotion to a greater responsibility.
Make timely visits to member group headquarters and individual stores. Developing and maintaining a professional, helpful and friendly relationship with all member store retailers.
Support company philosophy on all aspects in accordance with stated positions in regards to trade, associates and retail members.
Perform other duties as requested by the Vice-President of Sales & Merchandising or Senior Vice-President/Division Manager.
Directly responsible for managing employees in AWG Brands. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

Knowledge:
Knowledge of Retail/Wholesale operations. Knowledge of staffing and supervising groups and individuals.
Abilities:
Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Experience, Education and Training:
Degree or equivalent; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensing/Certifications:
A Current, active driver’s license is required.
