Software Engineer

Job Description: General Function / Summary: The Software Engineer is responsible for working collaboratively on a geographically diverse agile team to develop and enhance complex systems and/or software from user stories and technical/architectural specifications. The Software Engineer will analyze complex technical problems and create and implement innovative solutions. Essential Duties: Responsible for developing and unit testing assigned software features and functionalities. Performs technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for complex problems/defects. Provides reliable solutions to complex problems using sound problem solving techniques. Participates in daily standup meetings to communicate work progress and potential roadblocks. Presents, collaborates and adds value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions. Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion. Works collaboratively and professionally with other associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals, with a strong desire to drive change and foster a positive work environment. Minimum Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent working experience 2 years of relevant experience Experience building complex, scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment providing rapid delivery to business partners Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented programming Computer Science fundamentals in data structures Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Ruby, Java, JavaScript, C#, etc. Ability and willingness to consistently live and embrace our core values of accountable, inclusive, transparent, and focused Physical Demands: Standard office environment, remote eligible Extended viewing of computer screens Extended typing Travel: N/A Supervisory Functions: N/A All the above duties and responsibilities are essential job functions.
