Overview:
The successful candidate will provide security support at Hurlburt Field. This support will include Security Management Coordination, Facility Access Control, COMSEC, and Classified Information Control.

Come join Team Axient in support of the 492 SOW, based at Hurlburt Field. The 492nd is responsible for the support, management, and facilitation of formal flight training for Air Force Special Operations Forces which includes campus facility and device management, contract quality assurance, medical and mental health support, training product development and innovation, and MDS program management. The squadron administratively manages and supports all officer and enlisted students enrolled in initial and mission qualification training for the AC-130J, MC-130H, U-28A, C-145, C-146, and C-208 in addition to Direct Support Operators non-rated Combat Aviation Advisor students.
The successful candidate will provide security support at Hurlburt Field. This support will include Security Management Coordination, Facility Access Control, COMSEC, and Classified Information Control.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Security Management Coordination shall include the following:
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of DD 254 and applicable attachments.
- Designate and perform the duties of a Security Representative.
- Assist with the conduct self-inspections using MICT.
- Assist with Controlled Area Monitoring – Air Force (AF) resource protection.
- Conduct Initial, Annual, and Security Education & Awareness briefings for squadron and other contractors in the unit.
- Perform Operational Security (OPSEC) Manager functions; provide analysis, implement, and maintain OPSEC procedures for all program and project efforts at all levels of classification necessary.
- Report Security Incidents to appropriate Government Security Representative in accordance with DoDM 5200.1
- Designate and perform the duties of a Classified Materials Manager.
- Establish, implement, and maintain a Security Plan. Work with other Formal Training Unit (FTU) contractors to ensure security is maintained for the FTU complex.
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and execution a safety plan in cooperation with Facility Manager and Government personnel.
- Facility Access Control shall include the following:
- Create facility access badges for contractor personnel, permanent party, and students between the hours of 0730-1630 Mon-Fri.
- Maintain up to date personnel listings (to include graduation and PCS/PCAs).
- Maintain and troubleshoot security systems and associated equipment.
- Operate the visitor control desk during normal duty hours of 0730-1630 Mon-Fri. Duties include, but not limited to:
- Check in/out all visitors, issue 1-day badges as necessary.
- Issue Student badges to short-term and long-term students, update Velocity system with student’s information.
- Issue swipe access badges to visitors/contractors and update security system with visitor’s information.
- Validate visitors requiring access to classified material against - DISS visit requests.
- Maintain database of classified visit requests; update as new VRs come in.
- Ensure visitors with laptops fill out Electronic Clearance form and apply COMPUSEC cleared stickers as needed.
- Send emails to the applicable Visitor Control Center for incoming visitors to FTU.
- Communications Security shall include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Execute the requirements for COMSEC operations IAW AFMAN 17-1302-0.
- Designate a COMSEC Responsible Officer.
- Accomplish initial and refresher COMSEC training.
- Perform COMSEC self-inspections using MICT.
- Perform unit cryptographic program upkeep and execution.
- Perform unit secure voice program upkeep and execution.
- Classified Information Control shall include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Perform Classified Information duties IAW DoDM 5200 series.
- Perform document control process.
- Perform classification management.
- Ensure proper transmittal of classified material.
- Manage Safe Custodian Program.
- Manage key and safe combination control in the 19 SOS and 492 SOTRSS.
- Ensure proper destruction of classified material and annotate IAW AFMAN 16-1404.
- Manage classified reproduction.
- Conduct training for all personnel designated as classified couriers.
- Track control of classified performance, via metrics, for performance improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of industrial security experience.
- Must have or be able to obtain an active Secret DoD security clearance. Must be able to maintain the required clearance.
- Applicants for positions which require a US government security clearance must meet eligibility requirements to include US citizenship.
Must meet applicable COVID safety requirements and protocols
