Assistant Plant Controller

Axios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a Tier One Automotive company who specializes in the development of lightweight technology. Their growing team is seeking a driven individual to fill an Assistant Plant Controller position at their Carey, IN location.

Responsibilities:
  • Supports the accounting and/or finance function in plant location.
  • Approve expenses, expense reports and appropriation requests.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately.
  • Help prepare weekly and monthly financial results and assist with short-term and long-term forecasts.
  • Assist to maintain standard cost information for each product manufactured / sold, including work centers and machine rates.
  • Support audits of bills of material, routings and standard costing while establishing machine overhead and labor rates.
  • May assist with inventory management through physical inventories and cycle counting.
  • Participates in the development of accounting/finance policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required.
  • A minimum of two years of plant accounting and/or finance experience is required, preferably in the automotive industry, showing increased understanding and responsibility.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a complex, fast- paced environment.
  • Competence in Windows applications including: Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Position requires occasional exposure to noise, temperature extremes, moving parts, fumes, etc. in a plant environment.
