The primary function of this position is to manage the office staff, review problem areas with appropriate department managers and to maintain an accurate set of accounting records which are reviewed on a yearly basis by an outside accounting firm as designated by the Dealer.
Your Role and Requirements:
■ Ensure all employees within each department are properly performing their job duties.
■ Meet financial reporting deadlines.
■ Maintain a clean and accurate set of accounting records.
■ Make sure all paperwork flows smoothly on a daily basis.
■ Keep the Dealer aware of the financial status of the company.
■ Make sure staff are involved in successful cross training.
■ Make sure all accounting is entered into the computer system by office employees daily.
■ Disburse to all managers a daily operating control report for their departments and make sure the Dealer receives the full DOC report.
■ Prepare all necessary journal entries during the month.
■ Maintain neat and accurate files.
■ Work with all office employees individually.
■ Work with designated accounting firm on the yearly audit so final tax returns can be issued by them.
■ Handle all problems without delay.
■ Collect all money due from customers and the factories.
■ Work on any projects which need accounting assistance.
■ Prepare the month end and print and disburse the monthly financial statements.
■ Other duties as assigned which are deemed necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Works at a desk in an office setting for most of the shift. Will spend several hours a day analyzing financial data and other types of written information.

Your Role and Requirements:
- You will need a strong understanding of general ledger accounts, including proficiency in debits and credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Adeptness with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential and your flexibility to learn new computer systems will be highly valued.
- If you bring previous accounting/controller experience in the automotive industry, that's a significant plus! An accounting degree is preferred, as it underscores your foundational knowledge in the field.
- Accounting degree or commensurate experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Working knowledge of dealership financial statements Professional personal appearance.
- Ability to work well with customers. Dealership accounting experience preferred.

- Prepare a complete financial statement and submit it to the manufacturer by the 10th day of each month.
- Interpret and analyze the financial statement continually.
- Keep the General Manager informed about the trends and the cash needs of the business.
- Develop and maintain an effective cash management system.
- Meet with each department manager monthly to review the financial statement, pointing out any conditions which should be improved.
- Coordinate annual audit (or review) and physical inventory. Automate all possible systems and establish controls.
- Responsible for proper staffing and management of the business office.
