Location: Cortez, CO
Description of Responsibilities:
Scheduler is responsible for all incoming phone calls and scheduling appointments. In addition, the position will require getting appropriate insurance authorizations, managing referrals and follow up appointments. Manage registries per practice policy and support patient centered medical home practices. Scheduler is also cross trained in all Health Support functions and able to provide back up for a Health Support position.
Responsible for supporting Integrated Care Model and proper electronic medical record (EMR) documentation, while providing a high level of patient care in a fast-paced office environment.

Physical demands:
Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between AHS locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. AHS may make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Required Experience:
Required Education and Experience
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience: 3 years experience in medical office supervision/lead capacity
Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree in Administration or a similar field
Minimum Experience: 5ears of experience in a medical office setting
- Must be knowledgeable regarding patient health information and HIPAA compliance.
- Must be organized and demonstrate the ability to follow guidelines.
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must demonstrate the ability to be self-directed.
- Must demonstrate the ability to follow the organization’s confidentiality and security rules.
Required Skills:
- Require annual certification in CPR and First Aid and annual PPD testing.
- Require successful completion of medication administration class within one month of hire.
- Ability to work with minimum direction in order to anticipate and perform tasks without being instructed
- Ability to interact with people in a professional, friendly manner
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely through emails, memos, and manuals.
- Proficient knowledge of basic office equipment including computer, fax, and copier.
- Ability to travel within the service area of the Center
- Ability to follow established universal precautions and report potential exposure to a communicable disease immediately

- BLS certification required.
