The Risk Funding Finance and Operations function is responsible for delivering a strategic and forward-looking organization that will: • Advance the Company’s growth and profitability goals through the enablement of the Risk Funding strategy. • Provide clear accountability for outward reinsurance contracts, outwards reinsurance controls and outward reinsurance reporting. • Drive process excellence and better data and analytics through technological enablement and expanding partnership with Genpact. The Risk Funding Sr Analysts (RFSA) will report to the Risk Funding Operations Lead - Ceded. The RFSA will provide project and operational support for ceded premiums, accounting, and other related ceded activities. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Global Operational, Close and Reporting Support • Have a working knowledge of reinsurance contracts and resulting reporting requirements to assure ceded premiums and loss calculations are compliant • Support reading and interpreting ceded contracts to setup treaty contract terms for processing in reinsurance systems (ProCede and ARC) • Coordinate ceded premium month end close process including review and validate reinsurance transactions • Perform ceded premium analysis to validate, investigate and explain ceded results • Manage contractual obligation processing and market communications (premium adjustments/profit commissions/Reinstatement premiums) • Calculate brokerage per treaty agreements • Develop strong relationships with internal and external clients to ensure timely responses to inquiries and communications • Coordinate the billing and collecting of ceded bordereaux as well as assisting the team to resolve related complex challenges and inquiries • Assist with cash bordereaux administration including system allocations, GL postings and reconciliations • Assist with claims and underwriting when necessary to resolve inquiries • Internal status or KPI reporting for various ceded activities • Work with foreign currencies related to conversions and settlements • Support departmental compliance with operational controls including, but not limited to SOX controls • Other ad-hoc requests as required KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent • Minimum 5 years’ experience in reinsurance operations • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Advanced excel knowledge a must • Internationally recognized accounting qualification pursuit or equivalent experience (CPA, ARe, CPCU) a plus • Retrocession and / or third-party capital industry knowledge with operations and reporting experience a plus • Experience with ceded reinsurance and financial systems a plus (ProCede and Oracle/SmartView) KEY PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED: • Highly motivated and organized to drive company initiatives, showing a strong level of accountability, integrity, and professionalism • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure and respond to changing priorities • Team player with ability to collaborate with internal and external customers, understand the needs and goals of a customer and actively look for ways to meet them • Excellent oral and written communication skills, which will include report writing skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. • Highly numerate with analytical and problem solvency abilities
