Job Summary
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible for operating Extruder/Pelletizer (for example: Next Generation Recycling machine, NGR). Training will be provided.
- Responsible for preparing and conditioning materials to process in the extruder/pelletizer. This includes but is not limited to identifying defects in materials and remove prior feeding of the machine.
- Must possess mechanical aptitude enough to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance.
- Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Must understand the functions, settings, and mechanics of the machine
- Read and comprehend work instructions
- Must be able to complete all required reporting accurately and in a timely manner. These reports include both written and digital.
- Ability to analyze control screen data and make improvements and adjustments based on readings.
- Capable of changing screens and blades
- Perform safety checks on lifts, reporting any damage prior to start and end of shift.
- Perform routine forklift services including, but not limited to attaching a battery charger, replenishing fuel, and checking for safety of operations.
- General housekeeping of specific work area and facility. This includes but not limited to clean up and dispose of boxes, packing material, and pallets.
- Any other duties deemed necessary by management for the efficient and effective operation of the plant.
Physical Demands/Requirements
- Must be able to stand, stoop, reach, grasp, sit or stand for long periods of time, and lift 50 lbs. safely
- Noise level in materials area at times can be loud
- Must be willing and able to abide by all safety policies
- Must be willing to work flexible schedule as operational need require. Day or night shift; rotating 12-hour shifts, resulting in 36 hours one week, 48 hours the next week; every other weekend. Work is required on most holidays
- Non-climate-controlled plant environment; standard hazards within a manufacturing plant where safety precautions and personal protective equipment must be maintained at-all times
- 1-3 years of experience, injection molding experience a plus but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent
