Axle is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) supporting our work at the Visual and Medical Arts Unit (VMA) at Rocky Mountain Laboratories, located in Hamilton, Montana.  Visual and Medical Arts provides an extensive range of graphic design and photography services including:

• Illustration
• 2D and 3D animation
• Journal figure preparation
• Scientific poster design
• Powerpoint presentations
• Image colorizing and enhancing
• Video editing and production
• Display graphics
• Graphic design for brochures, certificates, publications, and other visual graphics

Job Description:VMA’s Graphic Designer will be responsible for supporting biomedical research programs and projects in the following ways:

• Producing illustrations, and graphic designs for publication.
• Producing informational print and web materials to support the branch.
• Designing layouts and graphics for the websites built in WordPress.
• Collaborating with subject matter experts and other visual information specialists to translate broad scientific concepts into details required to design, produce, reproduce, and/or display original visual products or materials.
• Willing to contribute to conceptualizing, storyboarding, designing, developing, producing, and editing video and 3D animation to document scientific results.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related fieldExperience in the following Windows PC software is required:

• Adobe Creative Cloud: All Apps
  • Specifically, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Microsoft Office 365 Suite

Experience in the following software programs is advantageous:

• Adobe Master Collection
  • Specifically: Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premier
• WordPress (custom CSS)
• Maxon Cinema 4D
  • Or similar animation software
• ACD Canvas
• GraphPad Prism
