Overview
Axle is seeking a highly ambitious, adaptable, structured, and detail-oriented Learning and Development Project Managerto join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Office of the Director (OD),Office of Science Management and Operations (OSMO), Office of Workforce Effectiveness and Resources (OWER), Workforce Development Branch (WDB).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day Branch learning and development .The operations include the management of branch records, marketing, registration and closeout process for training programs, production of live, virtual training programs via zoom, Microsoft teams or other platforms.
- Represent the branch interests in data requirements gathering for new applications.
- Update content for learning and development websites and monitor for accuracy of information and timeliness.
- Oversee training marketing efforts which includes updating WDB list services including for mass distribution and group email addresses.
- Complete special projects for WDB which may require researching readily available resources for information, analyzing data or entering information into government databases.
- Coordinate data calls for learning and development data.
- Gather and organize data from internal (e.g., course surveys, course completions) and/or external sources (e.g., Workforce management data) in logical and/or practical ways to support retrieval and manipulation of data.
- Analyze and interpret results of data analyses to identify patterns, trends and relationships.
- Maintain continuity of shared electronic resources databases including Learning Management System (LMS) and OWER Portfolio Information System (OPIS) operations.
- Oversee and manage Branch and Team SharePoint Sites. Update content, manage naming conventions, user experience and SharePoint business practices.
- Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) business operations and e-learning authoring tools.
- Implement, maintain and update systems for communications among WDB staff to facilitate the efficient flow of information and collaboration of projects and program activities e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Office, Zoom, OPIS, GovDelivery.
- Submit status reports on projects/assignments.
- Draft and maintain documentation of the policy, procedures, guidelines within the Branch.
- Investigate, recommend, and implement specific automation processes or workflows
- Gather and analyze information about processes and programs; prepare reports, letters, and other documents for review and input for programs, policies, and activities.
- Draft visual presentations.
- Maintain internal spreadsheet/tracking tools.
- Compile data and create and maintain slides for presentation utilizing computer programs.
Experience Required / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline to learning and development is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years learning and development experience.
- Advanced knowledge and application Microsoft Office Suite SharePoint, Excel, Word, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power Automate and Power BI.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in project management including the development of project timelines.
- Knowledge of existing learning technologies and support systems such as collaborative software, learning management systems, LMS integration technologies and authoring tools like Articulate and Captivate.
- Knowledge and application of 508 compliance practices in Microsoft Products.
- Experience in gathering and organizing data from multiple sources in logical and/or practical ways to support retrieval and manipulation.
