Your Impact
The Benefits and Leave Manager will be responsible for equal parts benefits (dental, vision, FSA/HAS, etc.) and leaves of absences (including workers compensation and ADA accommodation requests) support and management.
This is a key senior individual contributor role on the People Operations team, reporting directly to the Director of Total Rewards. This role will drive continuous improvement and operational excellence working alongside an internal team and through outsourced vendors. This position plays a key role in delivering an high performing employee experience by creating and maximizing benefits, both in the short and long-term.
What You’ll Do
Location: Remotely from USA OR Onsite at our Scottsdale, AZ office
Reports to: Director of Total Rewards
Direct Reports: 0
- Administer employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability and voluntary benefits for all non-US offices
- Collaborating with finance, company leadership, and external consultants to set, develop and report on financial performance of benefits program
- Liaise with HR, finance, and company leadership and external consultants to monitor and report on financial performance of benefits program
- Utilizing a “data first” mentality - is a whiz with Excel, reporting and analysis. Can tell a story with data and leads the organization through data insights and interpretation
- Provide assistance with all status changes (new hire, termination, transfers) to determine benefit eligibility
- Overseeing carrier and vendor relationships
- Managing open enrollment presentations
- Handling leave of absence, workers compensation, and disability (FMLA and non FMLA) claims and requests
- Coordinating leave of absence benefits
- Assist employees and dependents with benefits questions and claims issues to ensure a quick, equitable, courteous resolution.
- Assist in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process, including census data.
- Work with brokers and carrier to provide benchmarking and market data trends, within the industry, to support benefit offerings by location.
- Resolve administrative problems with carrier representatives and brokers.
- Assisting with processes, technology, and security audits, both internal and external
- Coordinating OSHA, Summary Plan Descriptions, and other annual reporting
What You Bring
- Minimum of 5 years related experience
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to benefits and leaves of absence
- Understands the value of the employee experience and has proven success with employee-first initiatives
