Job Summary and Opportunity
As the Senior Application Architect on our team, you will work closely with team members and other stakeholders to create industry-leading software that equips our clients to scale their businesses. Specifically, you will help design, create, and support the architecture of Enterprise-grade Java applications for the financial services industry. You will also contribute directly to application development within the Agile iteration cycle and lead high-level and detailed solutions design for new product capabilities and improvements. You will help the team address technical debt and advance the application architecture roadmap. This position is on-site and located at any of our office locations (Las Vegas NV, San Diego CA, Omaha NE, Overland Park KS, or Centennial CO).
Responsibilities
- Designing an application's technical infrastructure, such as specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches
- Participating in the assessment of software defects discovered during the quality assurance process
- Participating in addressing enterprise-wide platform and technology requirements for applications
- Developing detailed programming instructions to solve business problems through automation support
- Maintaining Bank Security Standards and passing Audit requirements on Software
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related field
- 10 years’ hands-on experience building production applications using platform technologies
- 5 years' experience with architectural and technical solutions design using platform technologies
- 4 years' experience in effective leadership of development teams
- Expert knowledge of core language and platform features
- Expert understanding of platform internals, network fundamentals, and security
- Expert knowledge of architectural principles and best practices
- Proven success leading high-performance development teams
- Commitment to code quality and automated testing
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- May occasionally work non-standard hours, including nights and weekends, as necessary to support business needs
Preferred:
- Experience with major application frameworks for multiple platforms
- Experience with major data access technologies on multiple platforms
- Experience with build, dependency management, and runtime infrastructure on multiple platforms
- Experience with Agile development methodology
- Previous financial services industry experience
