JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Healthcare Compliance, based in New York City, will support the General Counsel to develop and implement an effective compliance program in accordance with best practices and DOJ guidance. Responsibilities will encompass a broad range of areas related to compliance, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures, field and office-based monitoring, training, and auditing. The Director, Healthcare Compliance will act as the subject matter expert in areas such as transparency, training, communications, healthcare professional interactions, grants and donations, internal investigations, high-risk third-party vendors management, auditing and monitoring.
This is role is based at Axsome’s HQ in New York City with regular travel required for field-based monitoring activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement the Company’s compliance program for compliance with applicable laws and regulations relating to the sale of pharmaceutical products
- Conduct field-based monitoring of sales calls, speaker programs, industry conferences and other HCP interactions
- Manage the company’s compliance with selected state and federal law program requirements (e.g., Sunshine Act)
- Develop and deliver training on Axsome compliance policies and industry laws, regulations and guidance
- Independently manage investigations into potential compliance violations
- Provide guidance to employees on compliance and ethics matters
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-10 years relevant experience at a law firm and/or in the life sciences industry
- JD or other advanced academic qualification preferred
- Ability to travel regularly for field-based monitoring activities
