Aztec, an Activar company, provides comprehensive plastisol services to protect metal, including dip coating or molding and fluidized bed powder coating. We are seeking an Operations leader to help bring additional structure to the organization during our current rapid growth.

POSITION PURPOSE:

This position shares responsibility for the development, profitability, prudent resource management and operations of the Company. The Operations Manager will facilitate and deployment of the workforce, materials, machines and supplies in a manufacturing environment. The Operations Manager is responsible for: a safe working environment, quality products, on time delivery, sustaining existing processes and products and compliance to existing policies and procedures to achieve company goals and objectives. The Operations Manager provides work direction and manages the performance of all the facility personnel.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner.

· Monitor and maintain safety, environmental and security programs and ensure production area is in compliance with all local, state and federal laws.

· Responsible to implement, audit and administer ISO policies and processes in manufacturing.

· Drive strategic plan to achieve sales and budgetary goals.

· Direct operations personnel to obtain company objectives.

· Maintain standards to ensure parts are made to customer quality and specification.

· Establish and adjust work procedure to ensure on time production.

· Prioritize all work orders according to the production schedule.

· Analyze production schedules and estimate labor hour requirements for completion of jobs.

· Foster a continuous improvement environment every day.

· Oversee and maintain a preventative maintenance program.

· Determine staffing needs and ensure effective hiring, training, development, and performance management of factory personnel.

· Remain knowledgeable of all company policies and upholds them consistently.

· Examine defective machinery to determine cause of malfunction and oversee machine repair. Organize preemptive maintenance and ensure minimal down machine time.

· Implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Reduce lead times and late orders.

· Implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

· Drive opportunities to automate processes and recommending manufacturing processes and programs that guide the company in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.

· Demonstrate a pattern of logical and productive decisions that contribute to organizational goals.

· Maintain predictable consistency in all elements of organizational performance.

· Review WIP variance reports on a daily basis and ensure the accuracy of WIP.

· Take action immediately on all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling and quality.

· Responsible for the minimization of part overruns, eliminating whenever possible.

· Analyze and resolve work problems or assist team members in solving work problems.

· Lead and motivate team members to achieve work goals.

· Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.

· Ensure a clean and organized work environment.

· Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.

· Other duties as assigned.

· Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

· Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.

· Complete blueprint reading/understanding with specific knowledge regarding material properties.

· Full understanding of all tools, gages, and other equipment used to inspect production parts.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

· Five plus years of experience in a relevant manufacturing setting.

· Previous leadership experience.

· Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.

Preferred:

· Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.

· Familiarity with ISO policies and processes.

· College or related technical degree.

· Fluent in multiple languages.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
