Banking Training Specialist

The Training Specialist is responsible for the continued maintenance and presentation of the new employee on-boarding program. In efforts to ensure training effectiveness and continuity, the Training Specialist will also identify and evaluate staff training issues and provide on-site training as needed, through branch visits.

The Training Specialist is also responsible for identifying training needs and assisting in planning, developing, and implementing training activities throughout the organization; including audio-visual aids, computer presentations, manuals, workbooks and scripts. Assists in evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and employee performance. Maintains training library resources and distributes materials to managers, personnel and volunteers as needed.

The Training Specialist will be required to travel between all credit union branches as needed, including those outside the Topeka area.

Duties:

  • Act as the primary facilitator for new employee onboarding and work closely with Training and Development Manager to ensure consistent onboarding processes are implemented.
  • Work closely with Training and Development Manager to create, coordinate, and maintain a comprehensive, up-to-date training program for all employees. This includes face-to-face and online training options, addressing policies, procedures, products, and services.
  • Assists in administration of LMS system and content management.
  • Works closely with department heads and SMEs to identify organization training and developmental needs.
  • Provide, as needed, technical training as new technology is released. Evaluates training programs and services and provides suggestions for improvement.
  • Is responsible for overseeing the efforts of designated trainers throughout the organization assisting them as needed to include completion of training curriculum for all new hires. Conducts training sessions, as needed, to ensure personnel are effective in their respective positions.

Qualifications:

  • One to three years of similar or related experience.
  • Experience working in a credit union or financial institution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A two-year degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business school, or completion of specialized and extensive in-house training. Will consider equivalent job experience.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Ability to teach, persuade and influence others.
