Description

Burton Global Logistics is seeking candidates for the position of Logistics Operations Specialist. Our company is a full logistics provider with capabilities of warehousing/distribution, storage, freight brokerage, and freight transportation (local, dedicated, regional, and OTR lanes). We are an asset-based carrier with a current daily dispatch of 50 drivers. Our main dispatch terminal is located at 1603 Anthony Rd Burlington NC.   Role expectations  

  • Identifying and selecting reputable and safe carriers for freight services.
  • Providing customers with shipping quotes.
  • Order and Data entry.
  • Booking orders with carriers.
  • Monitoring load status / Track and Trace.
  • Communicating with shippers, carriers and dispatchers to manage pickup and delivery.
  • Keeping accurate records of relevant activities.
  • Processing transactions from order entry to completion.
  • Updating customers on the status of shipments and assisting with other inquiries.
  • Monitoring current knowledge of freight market trends.

Requirements

  

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Transportation or Logistics.
  • Ability to work under pressure and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills, phone, and email.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Broker or similar position within industry Preferred but will train.
  • Extensive experience in customer services, as well as generating freight bills and invoices.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Software (TMS), such as McLeod preferred,
  • Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work outside of norm business hours, as needed (Remote)
