Responsibilities

Summary: The Materials Management Associate - Warehouse Management (WM) will support GMP Operations to coordinate the incoming receipt, visual & physical inspection, labeling, and put-away of GMP and non-GMP materials.  This includes the creation of incoming inspection documentation that is accurate for the materials intended use.  They will ensure all storage locations are appropriately stocked and accurately inventoried and aligned with ERP system.  The associate will be responsible for the cleaning of Materials Management equipment and the appropriate GMP documentation of maintenance and calibration activities.  This position directly supports cold chain shipping logistics of Biologic / Device (tissue) products and therefore has an indirect impact on patient safety.    All job functions must be carried out responsibly, competently and conscientiously to ensure that Aesculap Biologics (AB) and Aesculap Implant Systems (AIS) products are safe and effective.

 

Principal Duties Responsibilities: 

  • This position reports to the MM Supervisor but also directly supports the materials’ requirements for AB Manufacturing and Quality Management. This role will also support various materials management activities for Aesculap Implant Systems (AIS).
  • Operates compliant cold chain shipping logistics that include packaging, tracking and tracing transportation of human biologic material between manufacturing facility and clinical sites.
  • Prepares receiving documents; enters receiving information in the ERP system; complies with proper handling and storage requirements of materials and components according to Aesculap Biologics’ SOPs, materials’ specifications, and SAP.
  • Provides internal distribution of cGMP materials for Manufacturing; following cGMP procedures; to provide accurate documentation and inventory reconciliation.
  • Supports Materials Management processes through manual labor to move materials & supplies to and from storage, preparing monthly inventory counts, including physical counts of materials, within the ERP system.
  • Maintains materials management equipment in a validated state and insures that storage equipment is cleaned and maintained on schedule.
  • Insures proper storage conditions for materials and monitors temperatures throughout all storage areas using the environmental monitoring system (EMS).
  • Manages MSDS for materials and labels materials per OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to handle and ship biological materials according to relevant laws and company SOPs. Able to obtain IATA/HAZMAT Certification and maintain certification thereafter.
  • Performs routine procedures following written instructions (SOPs, protocols, etc.) in support of the manufacture and distribution of Biologic / Device (tissue) products of acceptable quality and documented FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to be gowning certified for cleanroom work (as required).
  • Must comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations as stated in Quality Manual.

  • This position includes exposure to potentially contaminate biologic materials, instruments and blood or other bodily fluids. In compliance with OSHA regulations, Aesculap will provide required training and a safe working environment for all employees.

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect date, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 

 

The targeted range for this role takes into account a range of factors that are considered when making compensation and hiring decisions; included but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  The range provided is a reasonable estimate.

Target Based Range

$48,359 - $58,030

Qualifications

Expertise: Qualifications-Experience/Training/Education/Etc

Required:

  • AA Degree or equivalent experience preferred, but not required.
  • 1-3 year experience in GMP materials management (warehouse management) or manufacturing area.
  • Working knowledge of SAP ERP is a plus (WM).
  • Previous experience working in fast paced, start up environment preferred
  • Previous experience working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or Manufacturing Execution System (MES) a plus

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
