GENERAL FUNCTION: Performs in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and all other applicable requirements. Works under the general supervision of a quality control manager or supervisor, or other manager.

Inspects and/or tests parts or products being fabricated, assembled, welded or otherwise manufactured to assure compliance with quality standards.
Documents inspections and tests.
Accepts or rejects material or assemblies not conforming to design specifications or approved deviations.
Inspects purchased parts and specialty items from supplier and sets up disposition procedures for unacceptable material.
Consults with engineering for alternate methods and/or brings to attention of production supervision in cases of product problem areas or faulty workmanship.
Maintains records and files pertaining to quality control/inspection of products.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Good knowledge of detail and assembly drawings used in manufacturing processes. Good knowledge of codes, standards and regulations applicable to focus of manufacturing area assigned. Ability to use tools, gages, measuring devices and test equipment necessary for the inspection process. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to interface well with plant supervisors, managers and customer quality assurance personnel.
