We are currently recruiting an experienced boat technician. The successful candidate will work on B&G Trailers sites, providing high quality, safe and professional services. The role holder will be required to operate under the control of B&G Trailers supervisor. The technician will be responsible for the safe repair and servicing of boats and trailers, including ensuring all daily inspections are carried out and any damage notified to the maintenance team.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate is professional and has a great work ethic and attitude. This individual must be able to meet tight schedules, maintain the highest standard of customer service. Must be skilled in the latest products, equipment, and techniques to properly repair and maintain all of the boats, motors and trailers we service.


Responsibilities:
  • Repairs customer boats with high level quality.
  • Perform standard engine service, including, oil changes, impellers.
  • Water test boats as needed.
  • Perform engine alignments and shaft repacking.
  • Able to repair and adjust steering and control cable systems.
  • Dismantles and repairs defective equipment or engines, replace defective parts, and reassemble equipment using hand tools.
  • Connect fuel, oil, and water lines to engine, and install engine controls, propeller shaft, and propeller.
  • Use Precaution to protect every boat and ensure cleanliness while servicing.
  • Perform routine maintenance and determine when maintenance is needed.
  • Determine information, tools, and equipment to complete tasks.

Purpose
The objective of this role is to provide B&G Trailers with World-Class professional service.
Service and maintain boat trailers in good working order under mobile Mechanic’s supervision if required.
You will need to promote and present a professional image and offer capability solutions to other departments and frequently liaise with the Management team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years mechanical experience.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical and mechanical repair.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends.
  • Complete jobs within specified timelines.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
