We are seeking a full-time Tax Accountant to work in our Mineola, NY tax office. The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $95,000.
The Tax Accountant is expected to perform a wide range of duties for this tax office focusing on small business and individual tax clients.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare taxes and perform accounting services for individuals and small businesses
- Prepare sales and payroll taxes
- Conduct bookkeeping and related functions
- Train small business clients in the use of QBO and other small business matters
- Other duties as assigned by the Tax Branch Manager
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Three years of work experience preparing taxes for individuals and businesses
- One year experience preparing taxes using Ultra Tax Software; experience with business tax return preparation a plus
- Experience preparing sales and payroll taxes
- Experience working directly with clients and ability to clearly explain accounting and tax matters
- A pleasant attitude, team-oriented and professional mindset
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and make rules-based, analytical decisions
- Highly organized and proactive thinker able to meet deadlines inherent in the tax and accounting profession.
