About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Independent Testing Specialist in Independent Testing & Validation (IT&V) as part of Corporate Risk. The Independent Testing & Validation team is responsible for the development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities across the Enterprise in alignment with the Risk Management Framework and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies. The Senior Independent Testing Specialist will be accountable for executing independent operational and compliance risk control testing focusing on emerging issues and targeted testing supporting the Technology, Data Management (DMI), and Strategy, Digital & Innovation (SDI) organizations. They will also assist with planning & scoping activities; coordinate with business partners to execute testing and validation procedures; perform quality reviews of their work; assess, escalate, and disposition findings; and perform report preparation activities. In this role, you will: Assign tasks/responsibilities to engagement tester(s)/validator(s), establishing milestone dates that allow engagement target due dates to be met and conducting frequent touchpoints to track progress, address concerns, or provide guidance. Understand and apply guidance from Testing & Validation Policy, Procedures, Playbooks, and Job Aids. Evaluate and apply risk environments to engagements according to defined objectives and scopes. Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, and control environments, and understand market/business/regulatory changes to determine impacts to engagement plans and scopes. Escalate potential findings to engagement managers, identifying potential corrective action(s), and completing reporting per procedural guidance. Provide guidance to testers/validators assigned to engagements. Ensure all engagement milestone dates are met. Ensure effective quality of overall engagement. Work independently to execute tasks and documentation with minimal rework. Provide frequent updates to engagement manager on the status of all assigned tasks, escalating when there are delays impacting engagement milestone dates. Required Qualifications: 4 years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. Desired Qualifications: Experience at Big/Four/super regional public accounting firm with experience in IT General Controls, business process, regulatory, or compliance audits and/or advisory/consulting services with data analysis experience preferred. Strong ability to research, trend, and analyze data to create efficient and comprehensive testing strategies. Experience within the financial services industry, especially in compliance, risk management, or internal audit. Strong ability to research, trend, and analyze data to create efficient and comprehensive testing strategies. Experience with technology and data control testing, including performing and reviewing the work of less experienced team members. Strong testing/audit background, including preparing workpaper documentation, leading walkthroughs, utilizing sampling guidance, socializing issues, preparing reports, etc. Experience creating and executing testing strategies and methodologies; evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, initiatives, products and internal controls; and identifying issues. Knowledge and understanding of Technology and Information Security Frameworks and standards (COBIT, COSO, FFIEC, NIST, ISO). Strong relationship management skills: ability to negotiate difficult positions without harming relationships. Ability to perform assigned tasks independently from start to finish within the allotted time. Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Demonstrated negotiation skills, ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and strong organization and ability to prioritize.
