Technology Director - Operational & Enterprise Risk

About this role: The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Legal, Public Affairs and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed. Within EFT we are seeking a Technology Director to lead the Operational & Enterprise Risk Product Delivery. In addition, this position will have responsibility for Policy Technology engineering. This key leadership role will have Product accountability for technology strategy and execution across the 3 lines of defense. The successful leader will partner closely with the Technology for the COO organization in delivery for front line control. In this role, you will: Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads Focus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities Build support for strategies with business and technology leaders Guide development of actionable roadmaps and plans Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practices Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers Identify financial management and strategic resourcing Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives Develop strategies for hiring engineering talent Lead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovation Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers Lead team to achieve objectives Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy Required Qualifications: 8 years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 4 years of Management experience 4 years of Operational Risk Technology strategy & delivery experience 4 years of financial services industry experience Desired Qualifications: Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a synergetic attitude Ability to develop and deliver effective, well-articulated, written, and oral communications (e.g., emails, presentation materials) applying appropriate level of content/ detail dependent upon audience and intent Experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen Experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions Excellent communications, interpersonal, and presentations skills across technical and non-technical groups Proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams in a high-pressure environment.
