JOB SUMMARY:
Assistant Project Manager oversees the daily operations in a Custodial establishment that cleans under the direction of the Project Manager (PM). Functional areas include recruiting and training staff, collaborating with vendors, and ensuring that safety policies are implemented. This position’s primary focus is to develop a positive experience to ensure customer satisfaction.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Under the direction of the PM, oversee, schedule and supervises the activities of the employees to ensure accomplishment of daily duties.
- Understand, preform, and train custodial and floor care duties as it relates to the contract.
- Ensures quality assurance standards are in compliance and reports are completed in a timely matter.
- Monitor man-hours and other contract costs to ensure contract requirements are met within budgeted expenditures.
- Provide analysis of equipment and advise PM when repairs are needed.
- Participate in daily communication with personnel to ascertain problems/concerns, reach decisions regarding appropriate solutions, and to maintain a high level of satisfaction in terms of quality service.
- Provide leadership and guidance to encourage personnel to succeed.
- Manage the supply stockroom to ensure it is organized for easy access and inventory control.
- Identify and provide training in the safe and productive use and maintenance of equipment, utilization of supplies and the basic skills needed to meet contract requirements.
- Make employment recommendations to Management (such as, hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary, recognition, and appraisals).
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of performance work statement (contract) and adherence to customer standards.
- Fill in for Project Manager as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility
- Provide on-going training for staff and follow-up support in your work area.
- Observe and identify the need for training to ensure a safe and productive environment.
- Provide training in the use and maintenance of equipment, utilization of supplies, and the basic skills needed to meet contract requirements.
- Make employment recommendations to Management (such as, hiring, promotion, termination, disciplinary, recognition, and appraisals).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Prior Management experience
- Must be able to pass a background screening for access to the work areas
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
- Where permitted by applicable law, must have received the COVID-19 vaccine in full by date of hire to be considered for employment (unless otherwise exempted from this policy by an approved medical or religious exemption).
- Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree in Business or related field
- Industry Custodial or comparable experience preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Good communication skills (e.g., able to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints; able to satisfactorily present information in oral or written formats)
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective interpersonal skills. Able to get along with diverse personalities and abilities; is tactful, professional and customer service oriented.
- Reasoning Ability: Able to identify issues or problems, evaluate facts and draw valid conclusions. Able to “think-on-your-feet”
- Good administrative skills; comfortable performing multiple tasks concurrently.
TRAVEL
No travel is expected for this position.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE)
Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks. This position does require the following: repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling and prolonged standing. Will involve lifting/moving up to 30 pounds.
These requirements can be done with or without a reasonable accommodation.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Working conditions are predominantly indoors. Infrequently may involve working outdoors with some exposure to heat and inclement weather.
- Will need to use any personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated, properly and consistently.
- Involves exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., cleaning solutions and bio-waste hazards).
- Required inoculations and training provided by the company.
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.
AVAILABILITY
Full-Time, Individual must be able to work a flexible schedule including some nights and weekends. Typical shift days and times listed below:
Shift Days: Tuesday - Saturday
Shift time: 8pm - 4am
