JOB SUMMARY:
Oversees the success of employees with differing abilities for employment at BAC. Ensures documentation is in compliance with BAC and regulatory requirements for qualifying individuals with disabilities. Work is performed under general direction with considerable latitude in the use of initiative. Majority of work is performed at contract or work sites located in the Florida Panhandle. Position relies on experience and exercises independent judgment based on subject-matter expertise in the area of specialization.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.
- Partners with recruiters and management to assist with the recruitment process. This may include creating job requisition in the applicant tracking system, interviewing candidates, developing and maintaining referral sources; attending job fairs and hiring events as needed.
- Assists with onboarding new employees including accurate and timely completion of required paperwork.
- Appropriately investigates, documents and assists the resolution of employee relations issue performance improvement strategies as needed.
- Travels to all contract assigned sites on a regular basis (ie. Weekly/bi-weekly/monthly as needed).
- Supports the employees ability to succeed through the exploration of reasonable accommodations. This may include ordering equipment, transportation needs or making recommendations to management
- Completes Individual Eligibility Evaluations (IEEs) and employment plans for all assigned employees. This requires the collection of qualifying disability paperwork and ensures regulatory standards are met.
- Ensures biweekly time reporting is accurate and complete for payroll
- Assists in training individuals and supervisors in the application and effectiveness of accommodations on an ongoing basis.
- Acts as Liaison between HR and Project Manager for any leave management including medical leaves, jury duty, bereavement and leave without pay.
- Ensures proper classification of employees and submits changes in Human Resources Information System (HRIS) including pay, position, status changes, and coding.
- Assists Training Department to ensure employee training is complete and provides any additional assistance where needed.
- Provides input to supervisor of initial (30/60/90 day) and annual employee evaluations.
- Assists on-site management by coaching employees on proper workplace etiquette and performance.
- May participate in developing strategic action plans for various initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in related field.
- Two or more years of Human Resources experience and/or working with individuals with disabilities (IWD).
- A combination of education, certification and experience may suffice for the above requirements.
- Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must have a drivers license, clean driving record, current insurance coverage and reliable transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or technical certification in human resources, education, nursing or a social, behavioral or rehabilitative science.
- 3 years experience working with Individuals with Disabilities.
- Prior experience working with Government, AbilityOne or RESPECT contracts.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.

- Knowledge of principles and methods for providing instruction for individuals with differing abilities.
- Knowledge of safe work practices
- Skill in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office Suite and applicable department/organization specific software
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Ability to regularly attend work and arrive punctually for designated work schedule
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to organize work for timely completion
TRAVEL
Travel to and from contract work sites throughout the week during the business day. Occasional out of area and overnight travel may be required including travel to contract sites and BAC Headquarters in Rockledge.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE (IF APPLICABLE)
Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort usually involving some lifting, carrying, pushing and/ or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds) May involve some balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, walking or standing. These tasks can be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, heat, cold, rain, fumes).
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.
