But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Director of Analytics to join our growing team!

This position will require you to be in the office 1-2 days per week in our San Mateo headquarters. We are conveniently located near CalTrain, and Highways 280 and 101.

What You'll Do:

As the Director of Analytics, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision making and providing actionable insights to support strategic initiatives within the organization. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of analytics and business intelligence, from data collection and analysis to reporting and visualization. Your primary goal will be to harness the power of data to optimize business performance, improve operational efficiency, and identify growth opportunities. You will manage a team of 5-6 analysts, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and provide valuable data-driven recommendations to management leaders across the organization. In this position, experience with B2B, Sales Analytics, and Salesforce are required.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive analytics and business intelligence strategy aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the analytics team, ensuring they are equipped to deliver actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with executive management to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish performance measurement frameworks.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Ensure that we are collecting the right data we need to measure performance across multiple sources of data. Strong collaboration with data engineering, marketing operations and sales operations will be required to be successful.
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities that can drive business value.
  • Design and deliver regular performance reports to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Business Insights and Recommendations:

  • Translate data insights into actionable business recommendations, assisting in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, revenue generation, and cost reduction based on data analysis.
  • Provide predictive and prescriptive analysis to support business forecasting and scenario planning.

Team Management:

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of analysts and data scientists.
  • Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback to foster continuous improvement.
  • Establish a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages creativity and data-driven problem-solving.

Data Governance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing and enforcing data governance policies and procedures.
  • Monitor data quality and work with relevant teams to resolve data discrepancies and inconsistencies.
  • Ensure that data handling and analytics practices adhere to relevant data privacy laws and industry regulations.

Business Intelligence Technology and Tools:

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of business intelligence tools, dashboards, and reporting systems to enable real-time monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest analytics tools and technologies, recommending and implementing suitable solutions for the organization.
  • Collaborate with IT and other relevant departments to maintain and enhance data infrastructure and systems.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with various departments, including sales, marketing, finance, engineering, and product development, to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, promoting a data-driven culture throughout the organization.

The Right Fit:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline. A combination of education and significant relevant experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 8 years) in analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Snowflake, Salesforce, or similar tools. Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, experience with predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques are nice to have.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of business operations, key performance indicators, and the ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and actionable insights.
  • Leadership and Communication: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic mindset with the ability to align analytics initiatives with overall business goals and proactively identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business value.
  • Data Integrity Management: Solid understanding of data governance principles and data quality management.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically, break down complex issues, and develop practical solutions.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, build relationships, and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is $190,000 to $253,000.
