Pay Range: $80,000 - $120,000
This pay range is intended for in-person work in our Berkeley, CA headquarters. Pay ranges for remote-eligible roles will be subject to adjustment based on the geolocation of the employee.

What You’ll Do:
Backroads is hiring a UX/UI Designer to support our mission. You will be responsible for enhancing customer satisfaction by improving the usability, accessibility, and pleasure associated with a product in a way that is attractive and convenient for users (internal and external). You will be responsible for creating interactive programs that enhance a customer's experience with the Backroads’ brand and facilitate an enjoyable experience using various forms of digital and web media. You will also be required to have a functional understanding of coding and transfer the brand's strengths and personality seamlessly throughout the interface of all products at Backroads.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement new designs for web applications/sites
- Build storyboards to conceptualize designs to accurately convey project requirements
- Optimize existing user interface designs
- Test designs for intuitively and experience through studies
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand business goals and objectives
- Develop technical and business requirements in an intuitive and user-centered approach
- Combine creativity with an awareness of the design elements
- Create prototypes/mockups for new product ideas
- Conduct user research
- Continued education and research into UX trends and current design strategies
What You’ll Need:
- 3 years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing UX design
- Proficient with visual design programs such as Adobe Photoshop and others
- Proficient with mockup design tools such as Figma
- Problem-solving skills and ability to optimize designs for the best possible experience
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to create top-performing interfaces
- Experience with coding and ability to troubleshoot HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently
