Lab Technician Job Description
Badger Alloys is a full service ISO Certified Steel and High Alloy sand foundry with a reputation for superior ferrous and nonferrous castings from simple to highly complex. We have complete in-house capabilities for patternmaking, casting, and machining. We have been in business since 1966 providing a solid history of production and continuous employment.

Position Summary
Responsible for performing a wide variety of research laboratory tasks and experiments, making detailed observations, analyzing data, and interpreting results. Maintains laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies; Write reports, summaries, and protocols regarding testing/experiments and melt production. Also performs limited troubleshooting and repair of instruments.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze chemical composition of samples from melt department.
- Calculate additions to adjust chemistries to meet internal and external requirements.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of chemistry analysis equipment
- Generate daily production reports for the melt department
- Organize and track physical test material
- Assist with other duties as assigned by Lab Manager
Skills and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent with manufacturing experience.
- Ability to collect and process data accurately
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Some mechanical aptitude, comfort with light manual labor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be organized and detail oriented
- Must be motivated and able to work independently
- Ability and willingness to work with all levels of the Company
- Foundry experience preferred but not required
