What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Packaging Designer position at Badger Solutions, LLC?
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
- Responsible for creating structural and graphic packaging and display samples.
- Involved in projects from initial concept stage through to developing workable and producible packaging solutions that meet the requirements of our factories and customer’s needs.
- Discuss packaging or display projects with our sales representatives, create and execute designs using Artios, CAD, or Impact, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D renderings programs all dependent on each project required needs.
- Knowledge of and comfort using Windows/MAC software for all design programs.
- Make samples on ZUND CAD table or cut samples by hand.
- Produce packaging prototypes.
- Formulate and communicate ideas for new artwork/structure analyzing customer needs and production feasibility.
- Have knowledge of various printing equipment and printing processes
- Assist tooling coordinator (or Purchasing Manager) to ensure tooling is ordered properly and master print card/CAD specs are provided in a timely fashion.
- Handle various art-related projects for inter company management.
- Record keeping and filing of specifications.
- Meet time schedules on projects with possible overtime involved.
Experience Required:
- Degree in a relevant product/industrial/packaging design discipline or equivalent
- Experience in a Packaging Design role
- Strong understanding of technical processes to understand design constraints coupled with the ability to provide solutions to overcome such issues
- Good communication skills both verbally and visually to clearly explain/present your designs
- Impact CAD experience a plus
- ADOBE Illustrator
