Product Development Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Product Development Specialist researches industry and market trends, creates new designs and manages the new product development life cycle from design concept to production garment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes Other Duties as Required)

• Research trends in the marketplace to ensure Badger Sportswear’s product offerings stay current and on-trend.
• Design new products and concepts for assigned product categories
• Create technical drawings and tech packs for new products
• Work with factories to optimize garment engineering for aesthetic, fit and performance and negotiate cost
• Identify fit issues, perform fit adjustments and communicate changes to improve fit and function
• Communicate with factories regarding timelines for garment approvals and production deliveries
• Work effectively cross-functionally; Must be able to effectively problem solve design, planning, costing, quality and delivery issues
• Utilize PLM software to organize and integrate new style data

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion/Textile Design or Management
• Knowledge of garment construction
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and Microsoft Excel
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to lead product presentations.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
