What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Technologist I position at BAE Systems Plc?

BAE Systems is looking for a dynamic individual, preferably with a background centered on directing, developing, and/or performing logistics management operations that involve planning, executing, coordinating, monitoring/evaluating logistics support for a major DoD weapon systems products.

The NATO SEASPARROW Project Office (NSPO) position requires interfacing, on a daily basis, with senior level international and US government personnel, government activities, and prime missile contractors personnel in support of the government representative.

Staffs the ESSM Block 2 missile integration of the Mk48 and Mk56 Launching systems and associated canisters. Develops and monitors integration plans, briefs integration status at various reviews/major meetings (NSPSC, NSPR, etc.). Builds, tracks and staffs financial elements related to ESSM Block 2 missile integration.

Staff in service requirements for ESSM Block 1 missile and Mk48 and Mk56 Launching Systems and associated canisters. Interface with both US Government and International customers. Staffs Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), and present proposed changes during program level Configuration Control Board Meetings. Liaise with Consortium Nations to ensure both Field Activity and Prime Contractor funding is in place to support emergent requirements.

Staffs the ESSM Block 2 missile integration and In Service Support of the CMBRE, CMBRE Adapter and associated equipment's. Develops and monitor integration plans, briefs integration status at various reviews/major meetings (NSPSC, NSPR, Technical interchange meetings, etc.). Builds, tracks and staffs financial elements related to ESSM Block 2 missile integration. Staffs Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events associated with the development efforts.

Develops and maintains Projects at the Project Server. Supports training manager in the development of relative training courses.

Work with various USN Field Activities to coordinate the logistics associated with CMBRE delivery and deployment to ESSM Block 2 missile Nations. Liaise with Field Activities' and Nations freight forwarders to equipment is delivered to support various IOC dates.

  • developing solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity; refers to policies and practices for guidance.
  • working under general supervision, with work reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
  • contributing to the completion of the N-20 Divisional projects and goals.
  • working primarily at the customer work site, with required interorganizational and outside customer contacts.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills 6 Years with HS

2 Years with AA

0 Year with BS

  • BS Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office suite SW products.
  • May substitute equivalent experience , training and/or certifications for the degree . Relevant experience is job-related work that provides the necessary knowledge , skill, and abilities to perform the role (position).

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Highly desired, but not required:

  • a minimum of three (3) years of work experience encompassing program management support or logistics support; or a bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of DoD Acquisition Regulations
  • Active DoD clearance
  • Knowledge of NATO SEASPARROW and NAVSEA policy, processes and procedures
  • Ownership & Accountability

o Must be a self-starter

o Must be able to a take a task a run with it

  • Communication:

o Proficient Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project)

o Experience with Naval Correspondence formats

o Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing

o Ability to interact with mid to senior level military officers from both the US and International Navies

  • Knowledge:

o of advanced management, acquisition/budgetary and organizational functions, processes and principles.

o of naval organizational structures/interrelationships sufficient to manage, coordinate and/or integrate diverse program efforts.
