Principal Process Chemical Engineer - Capital Projects

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop new and redline existing Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and Interlock Narratives
• Work on multi-discipline capital project teams to modernize the production facility
• Support Process Hazard Analyses for new and existing processes
• Develop Process Flow Diagrams and Heat and Material Balances
• Lead various calculations for process design (i.e. relief, pump sizing, and heat transfer)
• Develop cost estimates for new and existing products and / or develop scope of work for capital projects.
• Provide field support for startup commissioning activities which includes troubleshooting process, instrumentation and equipment problems
• Provide field support for I/O & interlock checkout
• Provide on-call technical support as needing during commissioning
• Create and/or update necessary procedures and assist with training operators when needed
• Mentor junior Process Chemical Engineers

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and 6 years relevant experience
• Process Flow Diagram development
• Heat and Material Balance development
• Experience in Process Chemical Design or supporting manufacturing operations
• Piping and Instrumentation Diagram development (P&ID)
• Hazard Analysis experience - HAZOP, PHA, FMEA, etc.
• Ability to be on-call on occasion (rotating basis)

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
• 6 years relevant experience
• Process Flow Diagram development
• Heat and Material Balance development
• Experience in Process Chemical Design or supporting manufacturing operations
• Piping and Instrumentation Diagram development (P&ID)
• Hazard Analysis experience - HAZOP, PHA, FMEA, etc.
• Ability to be on-call on occasion (rotating basis)

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $91980 - $156330

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
