Job Description
This is a Union position governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. If relocation is necessary, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at his/her own expense.
BAE Systems in Keyport, WA, is seeking an experienced Shipper/Packer who will work under minimal supervision. Shipper/Packer duties may involve one or more of the following:
Prepare finished products for shipment or storage by placing them in shipping containers, the specific operations performed being dependent upon the type, size, and number of units to be packed, the type of container employed, and method of shipment.
Offloading delivery vehicles by hand and positioning material by hand or by non-powered MHE to specific staging areas throughout the warehouse.
Counts and sorts incoming material to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice. Examines received stock to verify conformance to specifications.
Prepare supplemental documentation, tags, labels or other identification for material received.
Load and unload shipments at staging and receiving areas. Transport materials and items between receiving points using non-powered MHE.
Open bales, crates, and other containers using hand tools. Sorts and places material in defined storage locations using identifying information.
Count and record quantity of materials and items received.
Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for the customer.
Stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves/racks, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material.
May mark or remark materials.
Assists with periodic, special, cyclic, or perpetual inventory of stock.
May mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles. May distribute stock keeping records of material issued. May assemble, disassemble, move, place identifying markings on, or repair storage aids.May be required to assemble crates or fiberboard boxes in preparation for loading/shipping material.
May drive a van, pick-up, or automobile to make local pick-up and deliveries.
Performs minor and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and tools.
Performs other tasking consistent with experience.

Minimum education requirements: High School Diploma/GED
Minimum years of related work experience: 1 year of general logistic support services
Security clearance requirement: Final DoD security clearance (US Citizenship required)
Must have the following skills/experience:
Valid Washington State Driver’s license
Be physically able to lift, handle and move up to 75 lbs.
Ability to function effectively and make positive contributions as a member of a successful team in a high pressure environment with multiple high priority tasks
Experience following detailed written procedures
Experience with Microsoft Office suite programs, especially Word/Excel and data input to programs/spreadsheets
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work experience demonstrating ability to interface with co-workers and customers effectively and positively
Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with records and inventory counts
Preferred Skills and Education Experience and ability to operate PCs using various logistics and office application programs
Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Access
Experience and ability to write detailed desk guide/work instructions
