We are seeking an experienced and passionate Software Leader to be the Chief of Staff for our Electronic Solutions US Defense Software organization.

In this role, you will:

• Partner and collaborate with business leaders across the enterprise to ensure Software Engineering business objectives are achieved
• Support the Software Engineering Director as a key member of the leadership team
• Act as the focal point for all process improvement initiatives including Agile, DevSecOps, and AS9145 with a focus on accelerating productivity through automation.
• Establish goals and standards of performance, create budgets, short and long-term strategic plans that are aligned with the direction of the business
• Manage our Software Engineering standard tools and support program teams with modernized infrastructure and tools technologies.
• Execute the Software Corrective Action Review Board (CARB) process through tracking and analysis of performance metrics and implementing action plans addressing organizational systemic themes
• Support recruiting, hiring and staffing to meet business requirements with a focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
• Promote leverage, knowledge transfer and sharing and career development by establishing a culture focused on collaboration, mentoring and learning, leading to a stronger workforce

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Software related discipline and 10 years’ experience
• Technical and people leadership experience in Software or related discipline
• Highly familiar with software engineering process, people, tools and technology
• Strong team building skills that enable partnership and collaboration within and across teams and functions
• Demonstrated communication, critical thinking skills and decision-making ability
• Passionate about developing and mentoring others

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence) or equivalent
• Experience with Agile development practices and/or DevSecOps
• Experience with product development using the AS9145 process or similar
• Familiar with software metrics collection and data analytics with Hang 10 or similar
• Earned Value Management and Control Account Management experience
• Master’s degree in Engineering or Software related discipline or Business Administration
