We are seeking an experienced and passionate Software Leader to be the Chief of Staff for our Electronic Solutions US Defense Software organization.
In this role, you will:
- Partner and collaborate with business leaders across the enterprise to ensure Software Engineering business objectives are achieved
- Support the Software Engineering Director as a key member of the leadership team
- Act as the focal point for all process improvement initiatives including Agile, DevSecOps, and AS9145 with a focus on accelerating productivity through automation.
- Establish goals and standards of performance, create budgets, short and long-term strategic plans that are aligned with the direction of the business
- Manage our Software Engineering standard tools and support program teams with modernized infrastructure and tools technologies.
- Execute the Software Corrective Action Review Board (CARB) process through tracking and analysis of performance metrics and implementing action plans addressing organizational systemic themes
- Support recruiting, hiring and staffing to meet business requirements with a focus on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- Promote leverage, knowledge transfer and sharing and career development by establishing a culture focused on collaboration, mentoring and learning, leading to a stronger workforce
*Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Software related discipline and 10 years’ experience
- Technical and people leadership experience in Software or related discipline
- Highly familiar with software engineering process, people, tools and technology
- Strong team building skills that enable partnership and collaboration within and across teams and functions
- Demonstrated communication, critical thinking skills and decision-making ability
- Passionate about developing and mentoring others
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence) or equivalent
- Experience with Agile development practices and/or DevSecOps
- Experience with product development using the AS9145 process or similar
- Familiar with software metrics collection and data analytics with Hang 10 or similar
- Earned Value Management and Control Account Management experience
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Software related discipline or Business Administration
