BAE Systems is seeking a Server Systems Administrator to support our customer. This position will maintain operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Making recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develop and maintain policies and standards related to the use of computing resources.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure that customers receive the most current versions of applicable software after appropriate security analysis.
- Provide management of accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment.
- Assists in providing technical guidance and assistance to other team members in support of end-users for information technology.
- Resolve system or end-user problems and makes necessary modifications to the operating system, network software and hardware configurations.
- Monitor the ongoing operation network environment and ensures corrective action to restore operational service is accomplished when needed.
- Review, evaluate, and fine-tune system components to achieve peak system efficiency.
- Create, design and modify system's configuration specifications. Perform necessary configuration changes and repairs to servers, and coordinates with vendors for parts and repair.
- Configure, install and monitor server based Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention Systems.
- Conduct system administration, group policy management and Active Directory.
- Coordinate with vendors and vendor support as needed to gain troubleshooting assistance with software and hardware as needed.
- Performs system backups.
- Analyzes and resolves system IT equipment/software failures.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education
- Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
Specific Skills
- 3 years of experience with proficiency supporting Microsoft server OS 2016 and 2019.
- 3 years of experience providing hardware & software troubleshooting.
- 3 years of experience with proficiency supporting Microsoft Office Suite.
- 3 years active directory support
- Experience with server backup software.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and work with a diverse customer base.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Public trust background approved.
Completion of any of the below Microsoft certifications;
- MCSE: Core Infrastructure
- MCSA: Windows Server 2016
