We are looking for a Business Area Technical Director (BATD) to join our team in Electronic Combat Systems (ECS). The BATD will be a key member of the $1.5 billion ECS Business Area leadership team. This role will provide technical leadership to the entire ECS portfolio of both current and future RF Electronic Warfare programs. ECS is a vibrant business area with leading technologies in the areas of RF EW that span from Mission Systems to applications using custom integrated circuits.
The BATD is responsible for leading engineering aspects of new business, technology planning & management, core technology development & reuse, architectural governance across ECS products/systems, technology & product/system collaboration, advanced system projects, and continuous improvement in all of these areas. The BATD will interact with the customers to understand their needs and to help shape the customer’s future plans. The BATD must have the ability to effectively collaborate with customers to understand, in customer unique warfighting terms their priority missions, end-to-end, across system and platform boundaries, and how they intend to operate.
A strong, and proven, background on team building and talent management is a must because this individual will be continuing to build a leading technology team. Recent and relevant experience in Electronic Warfare Systems and relevant domains is a primary requisite for this position. This position requires the ability to influence high level executives and peers within industry, customer community, and internally.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Required Degree, Skills and Experience:
- BS in Engineering or Physics, Masters preferred.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance or above
- Minimum of 17 years of related DoD and technology applications experience in leadership and engineering roles
- Demonstrated technical leadership and domain expertise in Electronic Warfare Systems
- Ability to formulate a strategic vision, define and implement action plans to achieve goals in a changing environment
- Extensive technical leadership experience in the development of complex electronic systems and leading engineering teams on new business pursuits
- Strong collaboration and integration skills
- Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations after synthesizing or generating technical materials from multidisciplinary sources.
- New Business strategy and business development experience including leading proposal efforts
- Strong communication and leadership skills including effective written, verbal, and listening skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Proven EW leader·
- Current DoD TS/SCI clearance
- MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics
- Modeling and Simulation experience
- Experience with model-based systems engineering
- Airborne platform EW system performance analysis
- Ability to visualize system functionality, to create block diagrams, and to analyze system performance
- Ability to analyze issues and define solutions
- Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance
- Familiarity with DoD customer infrastructure with respect to electronic warfare, missile launch detection, command and control, telemetry, flight test, kill chains, fixed wing, and/or rotary wing and unmanned systems.
