Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Technical Writer I to join our team of diverse engineers technologists and military veterans dedicated to providing independent quality assessments of developmental computer programs critical to the defense of the United States and Foreign Military Sales.. The qualified candidate will provide direct Technical Writing support to the System Engineering Task and assist other Tasks as necessary.
Candidate's primary role will involve the review and correction of various technical reports generated by Engineers. The role also includes the organization and editing of electronic media in accordance with processes and standards to meet timelines. The candidate should be able to proofread and edit material for spelling, grammar, syntax, capitalization, consistency, and required formats in a timely manner to meet scheduled report submissions. The candidate should possess an ability to also maintain and organize electronic records and to files of work and revisions and prepare contractual reports as assigned.Typical Education & Experience
Typically a High School Diploma and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelors of Arts Degree in English or Journalism or a minimum of 4 years’ experience in technical writing experience and a High School Diploma
- Proven ability to use all Microsoft Office tools
- Proven ability to create technical graphs and diagrams
- U. S. Citizen and eligible for a high level DOD Security Clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
- Knowledge of graphic tools
- Artistic creativity with graphics is a plus
- Familiarity of NEPs, DOORs, and JIRA software
