What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Data Analyst position at Baird?
The Human Resources Data Analyst is responsible for gathering data, analyzing, and interpreting trends using different techniques. This position requires the ability to extract, report and analyze HR data that is used to communicate information within the organization. The HR Data Analyst will work with HR and business leaders to identify data needs, develop reports, and analyze data in alignment with HR’s Key Results and Baird’s mission.
This is a hybrid opportunity at our headquarters in Milwaukee, WI with 3 days per week in-office starting June 1st.
For those outside of the Milwaukee, WI area, there is requirement for travel to Milwaukee once per month 2-3 days each time and dependent on client needs; anticipated at about 25% travel.
As a Human Resources Data Analyst, you will:
Collaborate and Build Relationships:
- Collaborate with HR Reporting & Analytics Manager and Director of HR Operations, Technology and Reporting and Analytics to research, recommend and implement HR reporting best practice solutions in alignment with HR strategic initiatives
- Develop critical working relationships with HR, external client groups and associated functional work-teams.
Be a Data Steward:
- Develop and maintain simple to complex reports and provide support for existing reports. Deliver meaningful metrics and trends via reporting and dashboards for HR and client needs.
- Consult with key stakeholders to identify the desired outcomes they are wanting to drive with data and advise on best practices to achieve.
- Ability to provide analytical support and translate data for clients for the purpose of decision making and improvement activities around our people, culture, and client focus. Communicate this information to company leadership and other stakeholders.
- Analyze the Firms’ Great Place to Work Survey results to look for areas of strength and opportunity, provide trend analysis and make recommendations on areas of focus.
- Support the HR Business Partner and their clients on the Engagement & Inclusion and Pulse survey results and output by looking for areas of strength and opportunity, providing trend analysis, developing easily understood presentations and making recommendations on areas of focus.
Help Drive Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in identifying and incorporating process improvements and new functionality available in the HRIS platform.
- As an individual contributor, assist in the enhancement of predictive and prescriptive analytics, proactive planning, and data governance modeling in coordination with the HR R&A Manager.

What we look for:
- Minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
- At least 1 or more years of experience pulling and analyzing data from an HRIS system, Workday, or similar.
- Proven ability with data management, report writing, dashboard creation, and querying.
