As a Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) Trading Assistant, you will play a crucial role on our team in a fast-paced trading environment.

As a Fixed Income Agency Mortgage-Backed (MBS) Trading Assistant, you will :
Provide support to our MBS trading team, monitor market trends and assist with trade execution and settlement processes.
Monitor macro-economic trends and analyze data to identify potential trading opportunities.
Conduct research and analysis to support trading strategies and decision-making.
Collaborate with team members to develop and implement new trading strategies.
Assist finance in ongoing (daily / monthly) profit and loss (P&L) reconciliations.
Stay updated on industry and regulatory developments.
Develop and maintain relationships with sales associates across the Baird platform.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and uphold ethical standards at all times.
Utilize systems including Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, Yieldbook and Intex Dealmaker.

What we look for :
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Computer Science is ideal, but not required.
FINRA licensed (SIE, 7 and 63) or willingness to become licensed within 90 days of start date.
A minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience.
Excellent communication skills and possessing a team player approach. Willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed to ensure work is completed in a timely fashion.
Attention to detail and a positive can-do attitude are a must.
Expert Microsoft Excel skills. Have an understanding of standard industry tools (i.e., Bloomberg and Yield Book).
